“Boxing has given me so many opportunities and has made me the man I am today. My dream was to be a sports promoter and develop my own sports content platform, and with the formation of Ringstar Management, this is now a reality.”
From his humble beginnings as a labourer for a window company to a managing director of data and information management software company Commvault Inc. and with 20 years of experience in combat sports, Scott O’Farrell has set a solid foundation for his company Ringstar Management.
Incorporated in Singapore in September 2016, Ringstar Management is a full-service, professional boxing, sports content management and promotions company, aiming to put Singapore on the world boxing map with a portfolio of world-class fighters and building new heroes of the sport from Singapore and the Asia region.
Scott himself has fought in over 30 boxing matches with 24 wins, including multiple Fight of the Night awards to his name. With his extensive inside-knowledge of how the business works, he plans to develop the world’s next batch of star boxers. Currently among Ringstar Management’s growing list of prolific boxers is Muhamad "The Chosen Wan" Ridhwan, who under Scott's guidance, made history by becoming Singapore's first professional World Boxing Champion. Scott has also guided MMA legend, Ryan "The Real Deal" Ford in his transition to professional boxing, allowing him to progress from 158th to his current ranking of number 40 worldwide. Ryan also clinched the title of UBO Light Heavyweight World Champion after successfully defeating New Zealand Champion Sam Rapira.
Through Ringstar’s spectacular boxing event The Roar of Singapore, Scott also promotes some of the world’s boxing champions, including world contender Tommy "The Titan" Browne from Australia and two-time WBC world champion Sirimongkhon Singwangcha from Thailand.
Packing a punch both in and out of the ring, Scott remains steadfast with his vision and mission – “I will use the best of my ability to guide Ringstar to the success that the UFC and ONE Championship are currently enjoying. However, that was their dream, not mine. I will take Ringstar to whole new heights of fight sports content. I am already building our OTT platform Ringstar TV, and we have already achieved a broadcast footprint of over 100 million homes in less than 12 months. I have no doubt that Ringstar will be among the highest valued fight platforms in the world in the very near future."
